About

Why New Dads of Avondale exists.

People can live blocks apart, raise children the same age, use the same parks and schools, and still never meaningfully know one another. We want to change that.

The Mission

New Dads of Avondale exists to make fatherhood less isolated and our neighborhood more connected. We bring dads and father figures together to build real friendships, create meaningful experiences with their children, share what they know, support one another, and contribute to the community their families call home.

The model

Connect → Belong → Lead → Give Back

01

Connect

Make it easy for a dad to meet another dad.

02

Belong

Turn introductions into consistent relationships and shared experiences.

03

Lead

Dads bring their knowledge, activities, interests and skills into the group.

04

Give Back

The community becomes a positive force for Avondale itself.

Community principles

The community is the protagonist.

Show Up

Presence matters.

Include

A welcoming community requires intentional inclusion.

Listen

No dad has every answer.

Contribute

Everyone has something valuable to share.

Make Memories

Our children should benefit from the friendships we build.

Strengthen the Neighborhood

The goal extends beyond ourselves.

Why I Started This

“When I became a dad, I started thinking differently about community.

I realized there were probably fathers only a few blocks away going through many of the same things—learning, adjusting, trying to be present for their children and figuring out fatherhood in real time.

But most of us didn't know one another.

New Dads of Avondale started with a simple question: What would happen if we created a space where dads could actually meet, become friends, spend time with their children and contribute to the neighborhood together?

In a world where we have more ways to communicate but often feel less connected, I wanted to build something deliberately human.

Not another networking organization. Not another app. A community.

Something our children can eventually grow up remembering.”
